Who we are

ABC Oldies Radio ("we", "us") is an internet radio station that runs this website. You can contact us at studio@abcoldies.com.

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, fill in forms or give us personal details to listen to the radio or read this site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, analytics or profiling.

What information is collected

• Information you choose to send us. If you email us, we use your email address and what you write only to reply to you and keep a reasonable record of the conversation.
• Technical information. Like every website, the company that hosts this site receives your IP address and basic browser details when your device requests a page. This is used for running and securing the site and is controlled by our hosting provider.
• Listening. When you press play, your device connects directly to our streaming server, which receives your IP address so the audio can be delivered.
• Administrators. The private admin area uses a necessary session cookie and records failed sign-in attempts (as a scrambled value, not a readable IP address) to block password guessing. Visitors never see or use this.

Other companies involved

• Streaming and "now playing" information comes from our streaming provider.
• Fonts and scripts are loaded from Google Fonts and the Cloudflare cdnjs library network, which can see your IP address when your browser fetches them.
• GoFundMe. Our fundraiser is run by GoFundMe. If you click a donate link or scan the QR code you leave this site and GoFundMe's own privacy policy applies. If you allow the GoFundMe donation widget (only if you choose to allow it), GoFundMe's code runs on this page and GoFundMe controls what it collects. We never see your payment details.

Why we use information (legal bases)

We rely on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving a small community radio website, and on your consent for the optional GoFundMe widget. If you email us we rely on our legitimate interest in replying.

How long we keep it

We keep emails only as long as needed to deal with your message. Failed sign-in records for the admin area are short-lived and removed automatically. Hosting and streaming providers keep their own server logs under their own policies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). You can contact us at studio@abcoldies.com.

Children

This website is for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
